Catch Up News for this Week (December)

Thursday December 8, 2022

Hello swimmers and parents,

This is a quick catch-up on several developing news to be aware of:

TDSB Schedule Update

We regret to inform everyone that as per TDSB official statement, the Don Mills Collegiate Institute closure will continue indefinitely until further notice.

It has been a difficult season regarding Sunday practices and we did not expect the delay to continue than it should, but we will continue to monitor the situation as it goes on. In the meantime, we will continue to credit everyone with the missed practices that can be used for future practices and programs. With that in mind, please also note that the final dates of practice of 2022 for Learn to Swim and Dream Team will be on Friday, December 16.

We thank you for your ongoing patience and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Final Words

With 2022 coming to a close, I would like to take this time to thank everyone in the team for making this year a special year. While the transition to a normal schedule is still ongoing and we've hit some snags here and there, we have managed to handle the situation better than we expected and despite it all, we pulled it through.

With 2023 on the rise, the next goals to look forward to is to see our swimmers continue reaching for the stars. In just a small timeframe, everybody has hit their short terms goals and managed to exceed what was once impossible to be possible. Everybody will be seeking their many firsts and as scary as it sounds, it is also exciting as it means everybody will be taking their next steps into the next phase of their swimming careers.

For now, may we continue to seek the present to reflect on the past and to prepare for the future. Fitting for the Winter Holiday season, every moment given is a gift that we should cherish and always continue to nurture, and the words can't be more true with the J Dolphins Swim Club.

With that in mind, we wish everyone a happy holiday, a great break and until next year, signing off,

Hochan Ryu
